    We are looking for an experienced Assistant Accountant with initiative and innovative thinking to assist the finance team and help drive business improvement across the business.

    Your responsibilities will include:
    • Projects / business improvements- both initial set up and/or end to end - for example research, source and implement fixed asset register software, take ownership over its maintenance and liaise with stakeholders within the organisation to ensure ongoing accuracy. Provide monthly reports on capex / other movements to CFO.
    • Research and drafting of position papers on accounting standards / tax / other business items/ policies for CFO review & implementation.
    • Complete / assist with completion of monthly balance sheet recs and any relevant reporting.
    • Maintain fixed asset register and post relevant journals.
    • Responsible for the collation and oversight of information gathering pertinent to R&D initiatives and annual report lodgement.
    • Inventory control, provisioning, reconciliations and reporting.
    • Supplier analysis / control, contract / record logging and reporting.
    • Assist in tracking / reporting on key raw material inputs.
    • Assisting with managing statutory compliance, including; BAS, PAYG, FBT and income tax
    • Assist with / complete end of month tasks ensuring accounts closed and reported on time, including management of EOM scheduled tasks as required.
    • Assist with key expenses / variance investigation as part of EOM reporting process.
    • Provide backup cover for / and/or be responsible for as and when required by business - Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Inventory processing, Banking & Other Finance functions as required.
    The successful candidate with possess:
    • Accounting / Finance degree
    • Be studying towards or willing to commence CA / CPA. 
    • Strong written and verbal communication
    • Intermediate excel skills
    • 2+ years of experience in a similar role.
    • Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines, prioritising tasks and working independently
