  • Lighthouse Engineering Pty Ltd (LHE) has its base in Western Australia and is locally owned and operated. Since the beginning, we have earned our reputation for specialising in general steel fabrications and steel structures. We provide cost effective and reliable structural steel and metal works, compliant with Australian standards.

    We're currently looking to fill several positions as per below; To be considered for one of the below positions, it is essential that you possess relevant qualifications, and the defined numbers of years' proven experience in a similar position. These are Full time positions and are available for immediate start; Sponsorship is a possible option, if required, for the right candidate. 

    Positions Required
    1. Workshop Supervisor: minimum 5 years' experience and holds certificate III in Engineering Fabrication Trade or equivalent as a minimum.
    2. Leading hand: minimum 5 years' experience and holds certificate III in Engineering Fabrication Trade or equivalent as a minimum.
    3. Boilermakers, Fabricators, Welders, Spray Painters, and Pressure Welders positions minimum 3 years' experience in steel structure industry
    4. CNC Machine operators: minimum 3 years' experience in steel related CNC machinery
    5. Trade Assistant: minimum 3 years in steel yard with forklift ticket and overhead crane experience with white card and carne operating ticket as a minimum
    6. Mechanical Engineers / Welding Engineers / Metallurgist (Quality Assurance for Structural Steel Fabrication and Welding)

    Job requirements for Position numbered above from 1-5:
    • Fluent in English (Reading and writing).
    • Can read & understand fabrication drawings thoroughly.
    • Excellent knowledge of relevant Australian Standards especially AS/NZS 5131, AS/NZS 1554, AS/NZS 4100.
    • Have a valid driving license in WA.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • Willing to work overtime and Saturdays if required.
    Essential Requirements for Trade assistant position:
    • Holds white card as a minimum.
    • Holds Forklift operator ticket.
    • Holds 5-ton side loader Forklift ticket with some experience.
    • Can operate gantry crane (preferred but training can be provided)
    • Operating of bandsaw (preferred but training can be provided)
    • High Risk License is desirable.
    Mechanical Engineers / Welding Engineers / Metallurgist (Quality Assurance for Structural Steel Fabrication and Welding) position Requirements:
    • A bachelor's degree in engineering
    • Minimum 3 years' experience
    • Strong knowledge of quality systems, processes, audits and general requirements of the fabrication and erection discipline.
    • Demonstrated experience in studying project contract and project specification thoroughly for developing inspection test plan, quality management plan and quality control procedures as per the project specification and applicable Australian standards.
    • Demonstrated experience in inspection of incoming materials, structural fabrication, assembly, testing and erection as per applicable engineering standards.
    • Strong knowledge in preparation of welding procedure specifications and procedure qualification records.
    • Familiar with Australian standards AS 4100, AS/NZS 5131, AS/NZS 1554.1
    • National or International certification as Welding and Coating Inspector is preferred.
    • Fluent in English
    Applicants holding the below will be prioritised:
    • International welding engineer Certification
    • CSWIP 3.1- Certification Scheme for Welding Inspection Personnel (Grade 3.1)
    • Certified Welding Inspector,
    • Certified Coating Inspector,
    • BGAS Grade 2- British Gas Approved Scheme (Grade 2 Painting Inspector)
    • Sound knowledge and experience in ISO Quality Management System.
    Remuneration package for the positions are between: $70,000 - 120,000 , aligned with skills and experience.
