Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Car Dealership Accountant to join our team. This role involves working closely with the Accounts Manager to ensure the smooth operation of all financial activities within the dealership. The successful candidate will focus on payroll processing, BAS statements, floor plan management, and other back-end accounting tasks that are essential to maintaining an organized and efficient operation.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with the Accounts Manager to oversee financial processes and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Process payroll accurately and in a timely manner for all dealership employees.
- Prepare, review, and submit BAS (Business Activity Statement) accurately within deadlines.
- Manage floor plan accounts, including reconciliation and reporting.
- Maintain and organize financial records to ensure data accuracy and accessibility.
- Handle accounts payable and receivable as needed.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Support the Accounts Manager with audits, tax preparation, and end-of-month tasks.
- Identify and implement process improvements to optimize financial operations.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and company policies.
Qualifications:- A degree or certification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in accounting, preferably in an automotive or dealership environment.
- Strong knowledge of payroll systems, BAS preparation, and floor plan management.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
