  • The Trustee for MV Family Trust t/a MVD Auto Workshop, located at 27 Smallwood St, Underwood QLD 4119 is currently seeking an experienced Motor Mechanic to join their team in a full time role working 38 hours a week.

    Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Conduct comprehensive vehicle assessments to accurately diagnose mechanical issues, including dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other key components for inspection, repair, or replacement.
    • Perform roadworthy inspections by conducting thorough checks to ensure vehicles meet safety and operational standards.
    • Communicate effectively with clients to understand their automotive concerns, provide expert recommendations, and explain identified vehicular defects or potential problems.
    • Carry out routine vehicle maintenance services, including oil changes, lubrication, engine tune-ups, filter replacements, and other preventive maintenance tasks, while advising customers on any emerging concerns.
    • Prepare detailed repair estimates for various services such as gasket replacements, coolant flushes, clutch repairs, gearbox servicing, spark plug replacements, fluid replacements, and other essential vehicle components, ensuring customer approval before commencing work.
    • Execute repairs and maintenance tasks efficiently based on the diagnosed issues and approved repair estimates while adhering to industry best practices and manufacturer guidelines.
    • Conduct post-repair test drives to verify mechanical integrity, assess performance, and identify any unresolved or additional issues requiring attention.
    • Maintain precise documentation of all inspections, diagnostics, repairs, part replacements, and maintenance work performed, ensuring accurate records for customer reference and compliance purposes.
    • Ensure the workshop environment remains clean, well-organized, and equipped with properly maintained tools and machinery to facilitate smooth and efficient operations.
    • Adhere to occupational health and safety (OHS) regulations, workplace safety standards, and best practices to promote a secure working environment for both employees and customers.
    • Stay up to date with the latest automotive technologies, diagnostic tools, and repair techniques through continuous learning and professional development.
    • Uphold excellent customer service by maintaining professionalism, integrity, and transparency in all automotive repair and maintenance interactions.
    To be successful, applicants must have:
    • An Australian recognized trade qualification Cert III in Automotive Mechanical Technology (Light Vehicle) or equivalent.
    • At least 1 year of relevant experience.
    • An Open Driver License
    • Skills in how to use hand tools to fix the problems.
    A salary between $74,500 - $75,500 will be offered to the successful candidate.
