Aussie Painting Pty Ltd, based in Waterford West, is currently seeking an experienced and qualified Painter to join their team. This is a full time role working across all regional areas around Brisbane and the Gold Coast of Queensland, 38 hours a week between Monday-Friday.
Our ideal applicant will be someone who has a keen interest in painting residential and commercial buildings, good attention to detail, strong customer service skills, and the ability to work outdoors and potentially drive.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Preparing surfaces by removing old paint, wallpaper, repairing woodwork, filling holes and cracks, and smoothing and sealing surfaces before painting.
- Selecting and preparing paints to the required colours by mixing portions of pigments, oils, and additives.
- Erecting scaffolding and ladders to ensure safe access to high reach work areas.
- Repairing woodwork, filling holes and cracks, and smoothing and sealing surfaces and placing drop sheets to protect adjacent areas from paint splattering.
- Applying paints, varnishes, and stains to surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment with precision and attention to detail.
- Hanging wallpaper, including pattern matching, trimming edges, and ensuring proper alignment.
- Laying and repairing wall and floor tiles as required, demonstrating versatility in various tasks.
- Cleaning equipment and work areas to maintain a safe and tidy environment.
Applicants must hold a relevant AQF Certificate III in Painting and Decorating qualification and have a minimum of 1+ years of relevant experience as Painting trades worker post qualification.
Skills required:- Knowing how to prepare surfaces (cleaning, sanding, patching, priming) and Proficiency in applying various painting techniques.
- Familiarity with and ability to use a variety of painting tools, including brushes, rollers, spray guns, and ladders as required.
- Ability to work effectively with other tradespeople and able to communicate effectively with clients.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving ability to identify and address issues that may arise during the painting process.
- Possess highly effective verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills.
- Have ability to work under pressure and be able to adapt to new working environment.
Aussie Painting Pty Ltd offers good job prospects with benefits including competitive earnings between $74,000 - $80,000 + super (depending on experience), hands-on work experience, a friendly work environment and the opportunity to express creativity.
