  • About the company: Giuseppe's Gourmet Meats , located at 4/94a Bay Road WAVERTON NSW 2060, is seeking a dedicated butcher to join our team on a full-time basis. We are committed to providing high-quality meat products and excellent customer service.

    Location: Waverton, NSW

    Salary: $75,000 -$85,000

    Role: Full-time

    Key responsibilities include:
    • Cut, trim, bone, tie, and grind meats such as beef, pork, poultry, and fish.
    • Prepare meat products for display and sale, including portioning, packaging, and labeling.
    • Use specialized equipment such as knives, saws, and grinders to prepare meat cuts.
    • Maintain inventory levels by checking stock, anticipating demand, and placing orders with suppliers.
    • Inspect and receive meat deliveries to ensure quality and adherence to health regulations.
    • Store meat products in appropriate conditions to prevent spoilage and contamination.
    • Assist customers with their meat selection, providing recommendations and answering questions about cuts, cooking methods, and storage.
    • Custom cut meat products according to customer specifications.
    • Follow all food safety and sanitation regulations to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
    • Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and tools regularly.
    • Monitor and record temperatures of storage areas and meat products to ensure compliance with safety standards.
    • Display meat products attractively to promote sales.
    • Monitor product displays to ensure they are clean, well-stocked, and visually appealing.
    Requirements and Qualifications:
    • Proven experience as a butcher or in a similar role for at least 2 years.
    • At least Cert III in meat processing.
    • Knowledge of meat preparation techniques and cuts.
    • Ability to use butcher equipment safely and effectively.
    • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations.
    • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
    Australian citizens and permanent residents are preferred.
