Yankees Restaurant & Bar in Surfers Paradise brings the vibrant flavours of American street food to life.
We are currently seeking a talented Chef to join our team in a full time role working 38 hours a week.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Prepare and cook a wide variety of dishes to the highest standards, adhering to customer dietary guidelines and preferences.
- Plan, design, and update menus to reflect industry trends and seasonal availability.
- Assist in financial aspects by aiding in menu pricing, budgeting, and cost control.
- Oversee kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Ensure quality throughout all stages of food preparation and presentation.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and properly store and preserve food.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in all areas of the kitchen.
- Train, mentor, and supervise junior kitchen staff, ensuring their development and performance.
Skills/Experience/Specific Qualifications Required:- Minimum of 1 year of proven experience as a Chef.
- Formal qualification in Commercial Cookery (Certificate IV or higher).
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
- Creativity and passion for culinary arts.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
