    They require an Electrical and/or Electronics Engineer to join their team in Emerald, QLD.

    Key Job Duties & Responsibilities:
    • Design & Development
      - Design, develop, and integrate multi-technology Proximity Detection Systems for underground mining equipment.
      - Develop and test Intrinsically Safe (IS) electronic circuits compliant with mining safety regulations.
      - Create and optimize low-frequency magnetic, ultra-wideband (UWB), radar, lidar, and AI-based visual systems for underground applications.
      - Work with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and signal-processing algorithms to enhance system functionality and reliability.
    • Testing & Validation
      - Conduct in-field and laboratory testing to validate system performance under mining conditions.
      - Perform various compatibility testing and ensure compliance with industry safety standards.
      - Troubleshoot and refine system designs to optimize reliability and performance in underground environments.
      - Develop and execute test plans, analyzing data and documenting findings.
    • Systems Integration & Application
      - Integrate proximity detection systems into various underground mining machines, ensuring seamless operation with existing equipment.
      - Work closely with distributors, partners, OEMs and end-users to develop holistic solutions.
      - Provide system architecture recommendations based on underground environmental constraints and safety regulations.
    • Compliance & Safety Standards
      - Ensure compliance with Australian and international mining safety regulations related to Proximity Detection Systems.
      - Implement Intrinsically Safe design methodologies and conduct functional risk assessments to meet regulatory requirements.
      - Liaise with regulatory bodies as necessary to ensure all designs meet required certifications and approvals.
    • Technical Support & Documentation
      - Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for deployed systems.
      - Create and/or maintain detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, user manuals, and training materials.
      - Conduct training sessions for distributors, partners, OEMs, and end-users as necessary on the proper use and maintenance of proximity detection technologies.
    • Research & Innovation
      - Stay updated on advancements in underground safety-focused technologies, including AI-driven detection systems and autonomous mining solutions.
      - Evaluate emerging technologies for potential integration into Matrix products.
      - Work collaboratively with research teams to drive innovation in underground mining systems.
    • Collaboration & Project Management
      - Work cross-functionally with hardware, software, and field engineering teams to ensure project success.
      - Coordinate with clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies to ensure seamless engineering project execution.
      - Manage timelines, deliverables, and budgets related to system development and deployment.
    To be considered you will need to demonstrate:
    • A level of skill commensurate with the equivalent of a relevant degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field, with at least 2 years of relevant post-qualification employment experience.
    • Extensive experience in designing and implementing Proximity Detection System solutions for underground mining equipment.
    • Strong expertise in Intrinsically Safe electronic design and compliance with mining safety standards.
    • Proficiency in low-frequency magnetic field operation, ultra-wideband (UWB) systems, radar, lidar, and AI-based detection technologies.
    • Experience in embedded systems, signal processing, and real-time system integration.
    • Knowledge of mining industry regulations and certification processes.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
    • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
