Roads 2000 is a well-established civil construction company in Western Australia operating as part of the Politis Group, specialising in asphalt production, placement and project management. Servicing private, council and government projects.
We are currently looking for experienced Paving Plant Operators to join our team based in Wangara WA, working across Perth Metro and Regional jobs.
This role will have you reporting the Ashphalt Foreman as part of the Operational Team. With varied hours on offer, successful candidates require flexibility and availability to work day shift, night shift, weekends and away work.
The successful candidate will:- Have previous experience in operating paving equipment (preferred)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Good communication skills
- Adherence to safety standards, quality control measures and operational procedures to deliver high-quality paving outcomes
- Completion of compulsory secondary education or equivalent
- Relevant plant operators tickets or certifications as required
- Valid Drivers licence
- White Card
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a team environment, with great communication skills, a can do attitude and willingness to learn.
Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:- Operating and maintaining asphalt paving equipment to ensure the efficient and safe application of bituminous materials on roadways, highways, and other surfaces
- Operate paving machines to spread and level hot bituminous paving materials and lay concrete on areas such as highways, roads, and car parks
- Monitor and adjust machine settings to control the flow, temperature, and thickness of the paving material
- Ensure the proper functioning of equipment by conducting pre-operational checks and performing routine maintenance
- Inspect the quality of the laid material to ensure it meets specified standards
- Adjust machine settings as necessary to achieve desired compaction and surface finish
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment
- Report any hazards, incidents, or equipment malfunctions promptly to supervisor
- Work closely with other team members, including labourers and supervisors, to coordinate tasks and ensure efficient workflow
- Assist in the training of junior operators and other team members as required
- Maintain accurate records of daily operations,including material usage, machine performance and any issues encountered
