|
Warrawagine Cattle Co are looking for an experienced Full Time Station Chef / Cook to join our team at Warrawagine Station in Marble Bar. You will be cooking for up to 40 people during the mustering season and 12 to 15 people during the non-mustering season.
To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to have a minimum of 2 years' cooking experience, preferably in a similar role on a remote cattle station.
You will also need to demonstrate:- Previous cooking experience for up to 40 people
- Supervision of kitchen staff
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Very high standard of hygiene
- Must be able to complete and pass a Pre-Employment Medical Examination (including a Medical Assessment, Audiometry Assessment, Instant Drug and Alcohol Screen and a Light Musculoskeletal Assessment).
- Must be able to obtain a current Police Clearance
Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:- Planning menus for a fixed two-week period depending on availability of seasonal goods;
- Produce four healthy, nutritious and superb quality meals a day, with varied meal options, from an array of fresh and dry ingredients.
- Use ingredients conversantly, and work within the stations Budget for food supplies.
- Assisting in the unloading and packing away of stores, fortnightly or as required.
- Butcher meat as needed; with pieces weighing up to 15kgs.
- Ensure the kitchen, cold-room's, dining room and storeroom are maintained at a clean and tidy standard at all times.
- Preparation, serving and storing of food must be of a very high standard, neatly and hygienically;
- Supervision and guidance of Cook/Kitchen staff allocated to the kitchen
This position will require you to have early starts in order to produce a cooked breakfast, substantial smoko, lunch and a hearty dinner, along with dessert. This position will see you working irregular hours; so starting early and finishing late will be the name of the game. You will be required to take a break during the day, however you must be organised and prepared in order to produce the next meal.
A remuneration package between $77,000 - $85,000 will be offered to the successful candidate.
