PANJAB BROS PTY LTD t/a Coast Indian Kitchen, located at Shop 4 2717 Gold Coast Hwy, Broadbeach QLD 4218, is currently seeking an experienced Tandoor Cook to join their team in a full time role working 38 hours a week.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Preparing and cooking a variety of authentic Indian tandoor dishes, ensuring consistency in quality, flavor, and presentation.
- Preparing marinades and mixing spices as per authentic Indian recipes for tandoori dishes.
- Operating and maintaining the tandoor (clay oven) at appropriate temperatures for cooking a variety of meats, breads and vegetables.
- Assisting in menu planning.
- Weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients to prepare tandoori marinades, doughs, and spice mixes.
- Monitoring the temperature of the tandoor and other cooking equipment to ensure consistent cooking and food quality.
- Ensuring proper storage of marinated items and raw materials following FIFO (First-In-First-Out) and safe food handling practices.
- Preparing dishes in accordance with special dietary requirements, including vegetarian, vegan, and allergen-sensitive options.
- Ensuring freshness of ingredients and quality control before and during preparation.
- Presenting and garnishing dishes attractively before service, maintaining traditional Indian presentation styles.
- Assist other staff in kitchen and supervising junior kitchen staff
- Adhering to workplace hygiene, food safety, and occupational health standards as per Australian regulations.
Applicants must have at least one year of relevant work experience and relevant Australian qualifications.
A salary between $77,000 - $79,000 will be offered to the successful candidate.
