We are currently seeking Construction Project Managers in Western Australia.
As a Construction Project Manager working for a Tier 2 Civil Engineering Head Contractor, you will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and delivery of day-to-day construction activities across major infrastructure projects. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that production targets are achieved safely, efficiently, and in line with contract specifications and client expectations.
You will work closely with site teams, subcontractors, and internal departments (engineering, planning, HSEQ, and commercial) to drive performance and maintain control of programme delivery in a complex, fast-moving construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
Production Management:- Lead and manage the delivery of works on sites, ensuring alignment with approved construction programmes.
- Drive daily and weekly production planning with site engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors to meet progress targets and KPIs.
- Anticipate and resolve production risks or delays to keep works on track and avoid disruption to the critical path.
Leadership & Team Coordination:- Manage and mentor site-based staff, fostering a performance-driven, safety-first culture.
- Coordinate plant, labour, materials, and subcontractors to maximise productivity and utilisation.
- Chair daily and weekly coordination meetings with operational teams to maintain alignment and communication.
Programme, Progress & Reporting:- Monitor and report on production performance against project schedules, updating short-term lookaheads in coordination with the planner.
- Escalate risks and implement mitigation strategies in a timely and effective manner.
- Maintain accurate daily records, progress reports, and site documentation for internal reporting and commercial substantiation.
Quality, Safety & Environmental Management:- Ensure all site operations are carried out in compliance with HSEQ legislation, project-specific management plans, and the head contractor's procedures.
- Promote a proactive safety culture, lead toolbox talks and pre-starts, and participate in audits and incident reviews.
- Support quality assurance activities including ITP sign-offs, inspections, and as-built records.
Stakeholder Interface:- Collaborate with internal departments (engineering, commercial, planning, HSEQ) to align site delivery with project goals.
- Engage with client-side representatives and subcontractors to coordinate work fronts and resolve site issues professionally.
- Support the Project Manager with progress claims, EOT justifications, and resource planning inputs.
We are looking for a candidate with a minimum of 3 years work experience in a similar role.
Further Requirements Include:- Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Proven track record managing production on major infrastructure projects (e.g., highways, bridges, utilities, earthworks, drainage).
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, temporary works, and resource coordination.
- Proficiency in interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and construction programmes.
- Working knowledge of planning and reporting tools (e.g., CCS Candy, MS Project, Primavera P6, Excel).
- Sound leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- White Card and relevant industry certifications (e.g., RIW, Rail Safety, Confined Space) preferred.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to work in project site locations.
Desirable:- Exposure to NEC, AS4000, or similar contract types.
- Experience with digital tools and site-based systems.
What We Offer:- Competitive salary and benefits package between $140,000 - $180,000
- Opportunities for career growth and project diversity
- A collaborative, high-performance team culture within a respected civil contractor
- Involvement in landmark infrastructure projects that shape communities
