Bendulla Pty Ltd require an experienced Mixed Crop and Livestock Farmer to join their team in Mundulla West.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Livestock:- Managing and undertaking the day-to-day operations involved in the breeding, raising and ensuring health of livestock.
- Handle all livestock in a safe and low stress manner.
- Check troughs and watering systems as required.
- Immediately attend to livestock requiring attention.
Crop:- Managing and undertaking the day-to-day operations involved in the growing of crops, including soil cultivation, applications of fertilizer and chemical.
- Safe and accurate operation of farm machinery including air seeders, harvesters and tractors.
- Day to day machinery maintenance to ensure operations are completed in a timely manner.
Farm team:- Managing farm hands and seasonal workers to ensure that day-to-day operations are run efficiently to maximise best quality of harvest and livestock.
- Participate in team meetings and ensure the team works effectively together.
Maintenance:- Ensure farm structures, fences, machinery and equipment are operational.
- Ensure properties are well presented, for example maintaining work yards and cleaning the vehicles.
- Undertake welding and fabrication where required.
Workplace Health & Safety:- Maintain a safe working environment, identify risks and implement corrective measures
- Communicate to the Farm Manager
- Acknowledge and follow the business WHS policy
Record Keeping:- Maintaining farming records and reporting to owners, and ensuring contractual obligations are met.
- Record paddock operations and other records in a legible, detailed and consistent manner
- Communicate to administration/payroll as required
Communication:- Communicate with team members to build an effective team
- Participate in meetings with the whole team to ensure strong communication across the business and even distribution of work tasks
- Both internally and externally, communicate in a professional manner, at all times, to ensure the business is well represented
- Treat all business matters as confidential at all times
To be considered you will need a Bachelor degree and at least 3 years of post qualification employment experience as a Mixed Crop and Livestock Farmer, OR; at least 5 years of employment experience in the relevant field as a Mixed Crop and Livestock Farmer.
This is a full time position, an immediate start is available. A remuneration package of $90,000 - $110,000 per annum will be offered to the successful candidate.
