About Us:
Karalundi Aboriginal Education Community Aboriginal Corporation (KAECAC) is a coeducational grade 7-10 Christian boarding school which serves the Aboriginal people of Western Australia. The community is situated 60km north of Meekatharra on the Great Northern Highway. The school is a member of the Association of Independent Schools WA and has a close relationship with Seventh-day Adventist Schools WA Ltd.

Position Overview:
We are excited to announce a position of Residential Care Officer who will work at Karalundi Aboriginal Education Community Aboriginal Corporation. This role is responsible for the day-to-day care, safety, and well-being of Aboriginal boarding students. They will manage recreation activities and supporting welfare and contributing to community development. The officer collaborates with support staff, families, and allied health professionals to deliver holistic, culturally respectful care aligned with KAECAC's mission.
Tasks & responsibilities:- Care and supervision of participants/students
- Assessing students' needs and planning, developing and implementing educational, training and support programs
- Interviewing students and assessing the nature and extent of difficulties
- Monitoring and reporting on the progress of students
- Referring students to agencies that can provide additional help
- Supporting families and providing welfare support and care for children
- Maintain accurate and up to date documentation in compliance with industry standards and Karalundi policy requirements
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate and empathetic approach
- Support by precept and example the principles and policies of the school and support Karalundi always by emphasising the positive aspects and holding in confidence the difficulties.
Qualifications and Experience:- Diploma or higher in the relevant field
- At least one (1) year of relevant experience.
Benefits & Remuneration:- Salary commensurate with experience. $76,600 to $80,000 plus guaranteed superannuation.
