All Pumps is looking for:
An enthusiastic employee with a genuine passion for dealing with customers and a technical aptitude to learning the ins/outs of the pumping industry. You will be well supported in getting to know the pump industry.
Overview of your role:
As an Applications Engineer, you are responsible for all internal sales activities of your product group. You sell All Pumps Products based on outstanding customer service backed by technical knowledge and know-how to further expand the market share of your product group. You are driven to achieve a sales budget, you maintain contact with our customers and (foreign) suppliers, you create proposals and you follow these up in a structured manner. You also work in a team with the regional salespeople and support them in technical and commercial areas.
To be successful it would help if you had:- Solid fundamental understanding of the sales process with good commercial orientation.
- Outstanding listening, verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in a field that required technical aptitude to solve the customer's issues
- Strong interpersonal / customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of customer personality types.
- Strong ability to identify customer needs and ability to overcome obstacles & objections in the sales process
- Strong personal drive.
- Team goal-oriented with a focus on achieving team sales performance metrics through personal contribution and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities will include:- Provide technical expertise in pump selection based on process conditions and fluid properties to best meet the application.
- Specify the most suitable type and model of pump to best perform the required duty.
- Plot the pump curves to reflect site conditions and expected performance at Best Efficiency Point (BEP).
- Assess site conditions such as Net Positive Suction Head required/available (NPSHr/a), hazardous areas requirements, environmental circumstances taking into account elevation, humidity, temperature and other elements that can influence fluid dynamics.
- Consult with client engineers to determine requirements around automation, electrical and/or software.
- Compilation of technical proposals and design of equipment assembly including turn-key packages.
- Working with tender team, clarifying specifications for bids and contracts.
- Friction loss calculations based on viscosity of fluids, flow rate, pipe diameter, pipe length, specific roughness of the pipe materials, existing bends, valves and other fittings.
- Identification of appropriate material composition compatible with chemical properties of pumped fluid.
- Analysis of parameters such as average velocity of fluids, Reynolds number, piping vibration.
- Advise stakeholders on expected energy consumption and life cycle cost.
- Account management of larger technical projects and clients.
- Scoping componentry and resources required for job pack.
- Oversee handover of projects from design phase through engineering and delivery.
- Manage progression through production and commissioning channels.
