The role:
As a BYD Technician, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the highest level of service, safety, and technical excellence for our customers' vehicles. You'll be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, and repairing BYD vehicles with precision and efficiency, especially focusing on our expanding range of electric vehicles.
Your duties will include:- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical issues on BYD vehicles
- Performing scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
- Conducting EV-specific diagnostics, battery health checks, and software updates
- Road-testing vehicles to verify repairs
- Keeping accurate records of all work performed
- Maintaining a clean and organised work environment
- Collaborating with Service Advisors and Workshop Controllers
- Staying up to date with the latest BYD technical bulletins and procedures
- Ensuring all repairs are completed in line with manufacturer standards
What We're Looking For:
If you're a qualified technician with a passion for electric vehicles and 4+ years of experience in the automotive industry, we want to hear from you!
Essential Skills Include:- Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent)
- Strong diagnostics and troubleshooting ability
- Experience with EV systems is highly regarded, but ongoing training provided
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Ability to follow manufacturer procedures and technical bulletins
- Sound communication and collaboration skills
- A genuine interest in electric vehicle technology
- Valid driver's licence
- Minimum 4-5 years industry experience preferred
