Safety Steel Structures require a Civil Engineering Draftsperson to join their team in Dandenong, Victoria.
The Draftsperson at Safety Steel is responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans based on specifications provided by engineers, architects, or designers. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and proficiency in drafting software to support the design and construction of various projects.
Key responsibilities include:- Prepare detailed technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints using Tekla CAD Software.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and designers to interpret project requirements.
- Ensure that all drawings comply with industry standards, regulations, and company guidelines.
- Revise drawings as required based on feedback from project teams and clients.
- Maintain accurate records of drawings and revisions in an organized filing system.
- Perform site visits as necessary to gather data and ensure designs align with real-world conditions.
- Assist in preparing material take-offs and bill of materials (BOM) based on drawings.
- Support the preparation of documentations required for regulatory approvals and constructions.
- Liaising with multiple departments to achieve business objectives.
- Ensure professional and effective oral and written communication with clients, including high quality documentation whether via email or through client specific document portals.
- Perform any other tasks as reasonably directed.
- Proactively seeking opportunities to improve overall project performance.
- Stay updated with industry trends, software updates, and best practices in drafting and design.
- Complete relevant QA documents as required and comply with quality procedures.
- Compliance with client safety management systems as required.
- Be conversant with Ahrens' Quality, Environment, Safety, Drug and Alcohol Policies, HSQEManagement System and Emergency Plan.
To be considered you will need:- Current Drivers Licence
- Diploma or Degree in Drafting, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Tekla CAD Software.
- Strong understanding of technical drawing standards and principles.
- Experience in construction, manufacturing or engineering.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and teamwork abilities.
- Knowledge of relevant building codes and industry standards (if applicable).
Desired skills and attributes:- Completion of OH&S Induction Training for Construction Industry Workers (White Card)
- Experience in 3D modeling software.
- Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) processes.
- Knowledge of sustainability
This is a full time position. A remuneration package of $80,000 - $90,000 per annum will be offered to the successful candidate.
