  • MLG Oz is a West Australian owned and operated business with operations located throughout Western Australia and the Northern Territory. Starting as a small contractor providing silica mining & haulage services for BHP Billiton back in 2000, our operations have since expanded to include crushing and screening, quarry products, bulk transport services and site civil works.

    We are currently looking for Welders / Boilermakers, Motor Mechanics, Diesel Motor Mechanics, Fitters, Metal Fabricators, Industrial Electricians and Auto Electricians to join our team across all of our sites.

    The right candidates for this role will be eager to work with this tight knit group of dedicated individuals, with a great attitude towards work and positive outlook in general.

    To be successful in your application, you will need the following:
    • Relevant trade qualifications required to perform your duties
    • Minimum 3 years' experience with a demonstrated safety and performance record
    • Sound knowledge of workshop and remote site operations
    • Experience reading, interpreting, following and communicating information on written job instructions, specifications, standard operating procedures, charts, lists, drawings and other applicable reference documents
    • Personal initiative, motivation and drive, with the demonstrated ability to work autonomously to achieve work outcomes
    • Demonstrated ability to work in multi-disciplinary work teams
    You will be required to:
    • Undertake repairs and servicing to MLG Oz plant and equipment as indicated by the site supervisor
    • Maintain applicable service and operation records
    • Order material and parts required for repairs and servicing of oxy and welding plant and equipment in consultation with the Leading Hand and Purchasing Officer/Store person
    • Test run site plant and equipment following repairs
    • Liaise with the Leading Hand and Site Supervisor on plant and equipment repairs
    • Ensure your work environment is maintained through daily housekeeping and equipment inspections
    • Take reasonable care to ensure your personal safety and health and that of other personnel whilst in the workplace
    • Undertake any other works as directed by the Workshop Supervisor, within your skills and abilities
    • Comply with policies, procedures and all safety requirements of MLG Oz and their client whilst on site
    • Facilitate the achievement of MLG Oz's goals and objectives relevant to the Kalgoorlie Workshop
    MLG Oz are also currently seeking an experienced Mining Engineer to join our team in Goldfields.

    In this role you will be responsible for the development of plans and techniques to meet our mining operations clients' needs. The role will manage assigned projects from start-to-finish, including design and documentation of equipment specifications. In addition, the Engineer will complete all tasks assigned by the Project Manager and/or Civil Manager, assisting with project specific reviews, conducting research, and writing reports. The intent of the role is to support operations in striving towards standardisation of tasks, removal of waste processes, increasing productivity and reduction of costs.

    You will be expected to ensure that projects are completed on-time, within the allocated budget, and are resourced accordingly. There will be travel to client facilities to oversee implementation and ongoing reporting and compliance.

    Tasks include, but are not limited to:
    • Always observe company health and safety requirements and regulations
    • Establish professional relationships with staff
    • Maintain a high degree of professionalism and diligence
    • Prepare plans with detailed drawings that include project specifications and cost estimates
    • Design and execute engineering experiments to create workable solutions
    • Develop engineering calculations, diagrams and technical reports
    • Complete required technical and regulatory documents
    • Ensure projects are completed on time and within the specified budget
    • Present analysis results and project solutions to technical leads, senior leaders and clients as necessary
    • Identify areas where improvements and savings could be made, or efficiencies generated
    • Travel to sites operations as required
    To be considered for this role, the successful applicant will possess:
    • 3+ years' related work experience
    • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial, design or electrical engineering
    • Drivers Licence - C class
    • Initiative in problem solving within assigned tasks
    • Able to perform effectively within a team environment
    • Demonstrated proficiency in written and verbal communication, including creating and delivering presentations
    • Advanced skills in critical software applications
    • Expertise in data and problem analysis, creative problem solving and design thinking
    Remuneration packages from $90,000 - $150,000 will be offered to the successful candidates.
