Treg Smith's Autos Pty Ltd t/a Treg Smith's Autos Located at 17 Dent St, Toowoomba City QLD 4350, is seeking a skilled and experienced Motor Mechanic to join our team in full time role working 38 hours per week.
What you'll be doing:- Assist in opening and closing the workshop.
- Assess vehicles to accurately diagnose and repair issues.
- Inspect and assess vehicles to accurately diagnose and repair mechanical issues, including dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering systems, and other parts thorough inspection and repair.
- Provide customers with detailed estimates for repairs and replacements and obtain signature approval prior to commencing work.
- Repair vehicles based on the diagnosed issues and repair estimate.
- Carry out routine vehicle maintenance services, including oil changes, lubrication, engine tune- ups, filter replacements, and other preventive maintenance tasks, while advising customers on any emerging concerns
- Tyre fitting, Tyre Balancing and flat tyre repair.
- Assist in performing necessary checks in roadworthy inspection.
- Test drive vehicles after repairs are complete to ensure mechanical soundness and to determine whether any other problems exist.
- Describe the vehicle's condition to the customer and answer any follow-up questions.
- File appropriate documentation for each repair
- Compliance with Workplace Health and Safety.
What we're looking for:- Must have Australian recognized trade qualification Cert III in Automotive Mechanical Technology (Light Vehicle) or equivalent.
- Must have at least 1 year of relevant experience.
- Diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Current driver's license.
- Proficiency in using automotive diagnostic tools and machinery.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs.
- Time Management.
A salary between $76,550 - $77,000 will be offered to the successful candidate.
