SID Brothers Pty Ltd T/a Caliber Auto Repairs and Tyres, located at Unit 10/29 Blanck St, Ormeau QLD 4208, is currently seeking an experienced Motor Mechanic to join their team in a full time role working 38 hours per week.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Assist in opening, preparing the workstations and closing the workshop.
- Use diagnostic tools and scanning equipment to identify faults in engine and electronic components.
- Inspect and assess vehicles to accurately diagnose and repair mechanical issues, including dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering systems, and other components for thorough inspection and repair.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on vehicles based on diagnosed issues and repair estimates.
- Assist in roadworthy inspections and perform necessary checks.
- Carry out routine vehicle maintenance services, including oil changes, lubrication, engine tune- ups, filter replacements, and other preventive maintenance tasks, while advising customers on any emerging concerns.
- Provide detailed estimates for repairs and replacement obtaining customer approval before proceeding with work such as gasket, coolant, rotor, flushes, clutches, gearbox, spark plug, fluid replacements and many more parts.
- Tyre fitting, tyre balancing and flat tyre repair.
- Test drive vehicles post-repair to ensure mechanical soundness and identify any additional problems.
- Maintain detail documentations of all repairs, part used maintenance and time spent on work performed.
- Keep the workshop, tools, and equipment clean, organised, and in proper working condition.
- Adhere to occupational health and safety (OHS) regulations, workplace safety standards, and best practices to promote a secure working environment for both employees and customers.
- Maintain Clean, organised work environment which is free from any hazard.
Applicants must have an Australian recognised trade qualification Cert III in Automotive Mechanical Technology (Light Vehicle) or equivalent, and have at least 1-2 years of relevant experience.
Applicants must also have:- An Open Driver License
- Knowledge of various tools such as shocker machine, wheel balancing machine, hoists, scanner tool, tyre change machine and brake test machines.
A salary between $77,000 - $79,000 will be offered to the successful candidate.
