Biltong and Boerewors is a South African Retail store that are supporting and serving our South African community in Sydney for over 15 years. We sell South African groceries and produce small goods meat products like Boerewors, Biltong and Drywors.
We are currently seeking a Retail Buyer to purchase products and negotiate pricing and purchase and supply arrangements with local and overseas suppliers.
We are looking for someone who can build relationships with suppliers in Australia and overseas.
As a Retail Buyer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing buying strategies to increase sales and enhance brand visibility in the retail environment.
As our main customer target is South Africans, it is important for the person to know and understand our South African culture and products.
As a Retail Buyer at our company, you will be responsible for:- Coordination of all purchasing and supply arrangements with suppliers.
- Develop & manage key relationships with key customers and suppliers.
- Research and review possible new suppliers.
- Lead in the development of purchasing strategy.
- Engaging with key stakeholders within the business and externally in relation to buying and sales functions.
- Taking a significant role in the identification and development of new products & assessment of current range performance.
- Monitor and sourcing of wholesale meat prices to negotiate best prices, to be used for production of biltong and boerewors.
- Sourcing well known South African home brand products for importing like maize meal and samp for example.
- Explore the South African market for new popular products to be imported or that can be produced inhouse.
To be considered you will need to have at least 2 years experience as a Retail Buyer or similar.
A remuneration package between $80,000 - $90,000 will be offered to the successful candidate.
