A premier height safety company specialising in height safety and custom steel (aluminium) structures for civil projects is seeking a detail-oriented Civil Engineering Draftsperson. Civil Engineering Draftsperson Overview:
The Civil Engineering Draftsperson will support project design and planning through detailed drafting, cost estimation, and budgeting. They will work closely with engineers, steel fabricators, project managers and height safety specialists to ensure the efficient execution of aluminium fabrication and execution of projects. The candidate will be working on unique projects with aluminium structures varying from roof plant platforms, step ladders, stairs and abseiling systems where safety and compliance can never be overlooked.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare detailed drawings, plans, and diagrams using CAD software.
- Prepare Structural and Finite Element Analysis Models using SpaceGass and Inventor on behalf of the engineers
- Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- End to end design; from initial concept drawings to completing as built drawings
- Review project specifications and incorporate engineering changes.
- Assist in estimating material quantities and project costs.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and local regulations.
- Maintain and organize project documentation.
- Analyse blueprints, specifications, and project scopes to develop accurate budgets and timelines.
- Collaborate with project managers to align estimates with project goals and ensure feasibility.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, material lists, and pricing data for future reference.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and as a team leader.
Qualifications:- Proven experience (minimum 4 years) in steel detailing / design focusing on aluminium and at least minimum of 2 years' experience in the Height Safety Industry.
- A minimum of an Advanced diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering or similar, bachelor's degree will be an added advantage.
- Proficiency in CAD software and familiarity with 3D modelling tools.
- Strong understanding of Work Health and Safety Act 2020 (WHA), AS1657, steel/aluminium fabrication processes, material properties, and construction practices.
- Excellent analytical skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
Metal Fabricators and Welders Overview
We're also currently looking for Metal Fabricators and Welders to join our team based in Canning Vale.
You must:- Hold a Cert III in Engineering / Fabrication and have at least two years of experience in a similar role
- Have the ability to read workshop drawings
- Show leadership skills and the ability to work as a team member
- Follow instructions given by coordinator
- Be reliable and honest
- Be able to fit into a clean, tidy and motivated workshop environment
The successful applicants will be offered a remuneration between $76,515 - $90,000.
