We are looking for an experienced full time Retail Team Leader to join our talented locally owned Intersport family in Golden Grove. As a leader of the sales team, you are essentially the playing coach! Your role is to develop and mentor the sales team of 10+ staff to deliver an amazing store culture in conjunction with our core values of Passion, Authenticity, Care and Excitement to exceed the needs of our local community.

Key Expectations: As the Team Leader, you will be responsible for driving sales and profitability while ensuring long-term business growth in alignment with Intersport's brand philosophies, policies, and procedures. Your role involves managing all in-store activities to meet sales targets and maintain positive financial performance. This includes overseeing the operating budget by generating revenue and controlling expenses.
You will ensure the consistent implementation of operational standards, such as product flow planning, markdown execution, seasonal promotions, and merchandise presentation. Additionally, you will provide valuable market information to the owners and offer strong leadership to your staff.
Part of your responsibilities will also include recruiting and hiring top talent, offering ongoing coaching and counseling, implementing development strategies, and creating succession plans to support the growth and stability of the team.
As Weekends and Holidays can be some of our busiest trading times, this role will require you to work some of these shifts.
Essential skills / attributes:- 2+ years' retail experience at the management level.
- Natural leader and team player with strong influencing & coaching skills.
- Strong selling techniques and experience delivering high-level customer service through storytelling.
- Personable with strong people management & coaching skills.
- Knowledge of retail maths and KPI's.
- Understanding of footwear, apparel, accessories and visual merchandising to maximise sales.
- Basic computer skills, including MS Word, Excel and Outlook experience.
- Able to perform all managerial functions, including standing for extended periods, speaking clearly with employees and customers, climbing ladders to change displays, stocking and retrieving merchandise, unloading shipments and performing sale setups.
- Experience in stock control procedures and inventory management.
- Self-driven and hungry for growth - Take ownership of your results.
