  • Costa D'Oro Italian Restaurant is a family-owned, long-established venue located in the heart of Surfers Paradise on Orchid Avenue. Established in 1987, Costa D'Oro offers a stable customer base, a friendly team culture, and a full-time, long-term opportunity for the right person. The restaurant features both air-conditioned indoor dining and relaxed alfresco seating. The compact yet well-organised kitchen is supported by a dedicated team, including a head chef, several line chefs, kitchen hands, and front-of-house staff.

    We are seeking a passionate chef with at least two years' hands-on experience in Italian cuisine, able to maintain high efficiency and standards during busy service. They must be a team player, familiar with commercial kitchen rhythm, and hold valid work rights in Australia.

    The successful applicant will have:
    • Minimum two years' hands-on experience in Italian cuisine
    • Formal qualification in Commercial Cookery (Certificate IV or higher)
    • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment
    • Able to maintain high standards and efficiency during busy service
    • Works well as part of a team
    • Holds valid work rights in Australia
    Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meats (chicken or beef), etc.
    • Prepare and cook any meal on our menu to the highest standard and in traditional Costa D'Oro style using our kitchen equipment (gas burners, salamander, oven, grill, deep fryer & or pizza oven).
    • Always check quality of all ingredients.
    • Keep a clean, sanitised and orderly environment in the kitchen at all times.
    • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly according to regulatory requirements
    • Monitor and rotate stock for freshness
    • Always maintain good communication with me and all other co-workers.
    • Staff training sessions and coaching others.
    • Estimate expected food consumption and organise preparation
    • Keeps records of wastage
    • Open and closing kitchen procedures
    • Be able to make adjustments to menu items to accommodate guests with allergies or specific dietary allergies or concerns.
    • Able to work any days or weekends to fulfil your 38 hours roster.
    • One single day without the need for you to provide a medical certificate is accepted otherwise you must provide doctors certificate when taking any other paid sick leave.

    A salary between $75,000 - $80,000 will be offered to the successful applicant.
