    We're currently seeking a skilled Boat Builder to join our team in Coomera, QLD in a full time position.

    The Boatbuilder - Senior Composite Technician is responsible for assisting in the manufacture and delivery of allocated composite components to the Production Schedule whilst adhering to quality procedures, production schedules, WHS&E practices and general housekeeping requirements.

    Applicants must have at least 2 years' experience as a Boat Builder and hold a relevant trade qualification.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Apply extensive experience in composite lamination, resin infusion, gelcoating, chopper gun use, gelcoat repairs, sanding, buffing, and polishing.
    • Carry out detailing and finishing work to a high standard of accuracy and quality.
    • Use hand tools and machinery safely and effectively.
    • Work to strict deadlines, meet production targets, and multitask across various lamination areas.
    • Communicate effectively, contribute positively to a team environment, and maintain strong attention to detail.
    • Demonstrate self-motivation, a positive attitude, and pride in workmanship.
    Lamination Duties - Open & Closed Moulding:
    • Read and interpret drawings to prepare, assemble, and maintain moulds, including applying release agents and performing general mould care and repair.
    • Follow lamination schedules to manufacture fibreglass components for hulls, decks, flybridges, hardtops, and small parts.
    • Apply gelcoat, assemble parts, pack composite fabrics, install structural materials (foam, timber, aluminium, core materials), and set up vacuums and vacuum bags.
    • Conduct in-line inspections to minimise defects, air voids, gelcoat imperfections, and ensure consistent quality.
    • Safely handle resins, catalysts, adhesives, and other hazardous materials while maintaining a clean, organised, and compliant workspace.
    • De-mould, finish, and prepare components for the next stage of production.
    A salary of $76,515 will be offered to the successful candidate.
