At Moana Dairies Pty Ltd, we're currently seeking a hands-on Dairy Cattle Farmer to lead the day-to-day operations of our 600+ cow dairy farm, managing livestock health, pasture utilisation, milking systems, and a dedicated on-farm team. This is your chance to make a real impact on a high-performing business with modern pivots, efficient workflows, and a supportive leadership team.
Applicants must hold a relevant Bachelors and at least one years experience, or 5 years experience may substitute the qualification.
Responsibilities will include:- Manage herd health, reproduction cycles, breeding programs, calving and calf-rearing
- Oversee all milking operations, plant hygiene, milk quality standards, and effluent management
- Develop and implement pasture rotations, irrigation schedules, feed budgeting and nutritional plans
- Lead daily farm operations including animal welfare, biosecurity, and compliance requirements
- Supervise, train, and mentor farm staff; ensure high safety and workplace compliance standards
- Coordinate maintenance of farm equipment, dairy plant, irrigation systems, and farm infrastructure
- Maintain accurate farm records including herd data, production reports, feed usage, and compliance logs
- Work closely with the Managing Director to meet production goals, operational KPIs, and financial targets
A salary between $75,000 - $100,000 will be offered to the successful candidate.
