Spitroast Kurri Kurri located at 200 Barton St, Kurri Kurri, NSW 2327, is seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to join our dynamic team. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality food and exceptional service, and we are looking for someone who shares these values.
Key Responsibilities Include:- Plan, prepare, and cook menu items in accordance with restaurant standards.
- Ensure all dishes are consistently presented and meet quality expectations.
- Monitor food preparation processes and coordinate tasks among kitchen staff.
- Maintain stock levels, manage inventory, and assist in ordering supplies.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and rotation of ingredients to maintain freshness and minimise waste.
- Oversee food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in compliance with regulations.
- Assist in menu planning, recipe development, and introducing new dishes or improvements.
- Train, supervise, and support junior kitchen staff as required.
- Manage time effectively to ensure timely preparation and service of meals.
- Collaborate with management and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and customer satisfaction.
Requirements and Qualifications:- Passion for delivering a high standard of food and service.
- Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work weekends and on a rotating roster.
- Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery is mandatory.
Skills and Competencies:- Positive, cooperative, and can-do attitude.
- Ability to perform well under pressure in a busy environment.
- Creativity and willingness to contribute to menu development.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent culinary techniques and knife skills.
Australian citizens and permanent residents are preferred.
