  • BOBKAR HOLDINGS PTY LTD. (t/a: BENE EAT AND DRINK) is currently seeking an experienced and passionate Cook to join their North Sydney team in a full time role (38 hours per week).

    Applicants must at minimum hold a relevant Certificate IV qualification plus one year full time (or part time equivalent) relevant experience required; or at least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Checking ingredients for freshness and quality - Inspecting vegetables for spoilage, ensuring meat is within use-by dates.
    • Adjusting and monitoring the heat of ovens, grills, stovetops, and other kitchen equipment - Pre-heating ovens to the correct temperature or lowering grill heat to prevent overcooking.
    • Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes - Chopping ingredients, marinating meats, boiling pasta, grilling sausage, tomatoes, capsicums, etc.
    • Adding seasoning and flavourings during the cooking process - Adjusting salt, spices, or herbs while simmering soups or sautéing vegetables.
    • Portioning meals and plating dishes attractively with sauces and garnishes - Dividing meals into standard serving sizes and adding gravy, dressings, or decorative herbs.
    • Storing ingredients safely in fridges, freezers, or cool room -Labelling containers with date codes and ensuring items are kept at correct temperatures.
    • Preparing meals for customers with specific dietary needs - Making gluten-free dishes, low-sodium meals, or allergen-safe plates for customers with allergies.
    • Assisting Chef with menu planning and calculating ingredient quantities when required - Helping design specials or estimating how much produce is needed for a busy weekend.
    • Providing guidance and training to junior kitchen staff - Teaching knife skills, safe food-handling procedures, or demonstrating how to prepare signature dishes.

    A salary of $80,000 plus super per year will be offered to the successful candidate.
