The Alexander Bar & Bistro is a family-friendly establishment in Ballajura, and we are seeking experienced and motivated Chefs/Cooks to join our kitchen team. The successful candidates will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality meals in line with our venue standards. This role requires strong culinary skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, portion controls, and quality standards.
- Ensure food is presented in a consistent and appealing manner.
- Assist with menu development, specials, and seasonal offerings.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment in compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Monitor stock levels, assist with stock rotation, and minimise wastage.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.
- Adhere to workplace health and safety guidelines and venue policies.
- Support the Head Chef / Venue Manager with kitchen operations as required.
Skills & Experience:- At least 2 years' proven experience as a Chef, Cook, or similar role in a busy kitchen.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards (Food Safety Certificate desirable).
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Creativity and passion for food presentation.
- Team player with excellent communication skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as rostered.
Qualifications (desirable but not essential):- Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent trade qualification.
- Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
- First Aid Certificate
A salary between $76,515 - $80,000 will be offered to the successful candidates.
