  • KW Earthmoving & Concreting offers top-quality Wet and Dry Hire, Concreting, Earthmoving, and Quarry Services in Mildura. We are currently seeking a skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team in a full time position.

    Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Diagnose, service, repair, and maintain heavy diesel vehicles, plant, and earthmoving machinery including trucks, excavators, loaders, dozers, and ancillary equipment
    • Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems using diagnostic tools and technical manuals
    • Perform scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance, and compliance checks in accordance with manufacturer specifications and Australian standards
    • Conduct major repairs, rebuilds, and overhauls of diesel engines, drivetrains, transmissions, braking systems, and hydraulic components
    • Inspect machinery to ensure operational safety, reliability, and compliance with workplace health and safety requirements
    • Operate earthmoving and mobile plant equipment (where licensed and competent) for testing, fault diagnosis, commissioning, relocation, and operational support purposes
    • Assist site and operations teams by safely moving, positioning, and testing plant and equipment as required
    • Maintain accurate service records, maintenance logs, and defect reports for all equipment and vehicles
    • Coordinate with parts suppliers, workshop staff, and operational teams to minimise downtime and ensure efficient maintenance workflows
    • Ensure all mechanical and operational tasks are completed in accordance with workshop procedures, manufacturer guidelines, and WHS regulations
    Applicants must have:
    • Minimum 1+ years' hands-on experience and AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV or At least three years of relevant demonstrated expertise in diagnostic testing, systematic fault-finding, and problem-solving
    • Strong understanding of hydraulic systems, electronic control modules, and mechanical systems
    • High level of technical accuracy, attention to detail, and quality workmanship
    • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within workshop and field teams
    • Current driver's licence (HR preferred)
    The successful candidate will be offered a salary of AUD $85,000 - $110,000 per annum.
