  • Kabra Country Hotel (Kabra Hotel) is seeking suitably qualified and experienced Chefs to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis. The successful candidates will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals, maintaining kitchen standards, and supporting efficient day-to-day kitchen operations.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Plan and prepare a range of menu items in accordance with established recipes and restaurant standards
    • Cook, season, and present food to a consistently high standard of quality and presentation
    • Ensure correct portion control, food quality, and minimal wastage
    • Assist with day-to-day kitchen operations during service periods
    • Maintain food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness in accordance with Australian food safety standards
    • Monitor food storage, stock rotation, and temperature control
    • Assist with ordering and managing kitchen inventory and supplies
    • Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service
    • Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff as required
    • Comply with all workplace health and safety requirements
    Skills and Experience:

    Essential:
    • Minimum two (2) years of relevant full-time experience as a Chef
    • Strong knowledge of commercial cookery techniques and food preparation
    • Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety practices
    • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
    Preferred:
    • Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
    • Experience preparing dishes to meet dietary requirements (e.g. vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free)
    Working Conditions:
    • Availability to work rotating rosters, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
    • Ability to stand for extended periods and work under pressure during busy service times
    A salary between $77,000 - $85,000 per annum plus superannuation, commensurate with skills and experience experience will be offered to the successful candidate.
