A family-owned agricultural enterprise situated 15km east of Bordertown, South Australia involved in broad acre cropping of wheat, beans, canola, lentils and hay as well as seasonal livestock grazing.
We require a Mixed Crop and Livestock Farmer in Wolseley.
Key responsibilities include:- Plan, organise, control, coordinate and perform farming operations to both grow dry-land cerals and pusles and be responsible for the overall management function of the sheep farming components of the enterprise;
- Manage, plan and co-ordinate the sheep stock farming components of the business with reference to breeding, raising, marketing, sale and maintenance of their health and condition;
- Manage, plan and co-ordinate the dry-land cerals and pulses crop farming component of the business concerning the planting, cultivating, harvesting, sale and transportation of the crops with due regard for fertilising, pest and weed control;
- Maintenance of farm buildings, shearing sheds, fences, plant equipment and water supply systems and infrastructure;
- Maintenance of farm records, evaluation and planning of farming activities, monitoring of market activity and planning lamb and crop production accordingly;
- Management of business capital, selection, appointment and management staff and contractors.
To be considered you will need:- Completion of at least Bachelor's degree OR at least 5 years of employment experience in the relevant field as a Mixed Crop and Livestock Farmer;
- Mixed Crop and Livestock Farmer work experience of at least 5 years is required irrespective of qualifications.
