O'Brien Auto Electrical Pty Ltd T/As O'Brien Auto Electrics are currently seeking a skilled Automotive Electrician to join their Forrestfield team. This is a full time role with an immediate start available, working Monday - Friday 7:30am - 3:30 pm (overtime available).
The Automotive Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing electrical wiring, electronic systems and air conditioning systems across a broad range of customer equipment, including light vehicles, heavy vehicles, and earthmoving machinery. The role involves both field-based and workshop servicing, including fault diagnosis and repairs, while contributing to the safe, efficient and well-maintained operation of the workshop.
Duties include:- Perform in-house and mobile servicing, maintenance and repairs on customer vehicles and equipment (mechanical, auto electrical, air conditioning and fabrication).
- Diagnose and repair electrical and electronic faults using specialised test equipment.
- Install, maintain and replace vehicle wiring, components, accessories and engine control systems.
- Adhere to scheduled service procedures, production targets and quality standards.
- Source required parts and components and ensure high-quality workmanship, including oversight of external providers where required.
- Complete job documentation including worksheets, inspection reports and fault reports.
- Provide technical support and training, including mentoring apprentices.
- Maintain strong customer communication and deliver professional service at all times.
- Operate workshop equipment safely and contribute to a clean, safe and compliant work environment.
- Actively support health and safety practices and participate in risk management activities.
Essential Criteria:- At least 2+ years' experience as an Automotive Electrician
- Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology.
- Certificate II in Automotive Air Conditioning Technology.
- Motor Vehicle Repairers Certificate, class ELW & ACW.
- Automotive air conditioning licence granted under Subdivision 6A.2.2 of the Ozone Protection and Synthetic Greenhouse Gas Management Regulations 1995 of the Commonwealth.
- Considerable experience as an auto electrician in a heavy automotive environment.
A salary of $95,000 - $120,000 will be offered to the successful candidate.
