Waterbar and Grill Steakhouse - Cairns
|
Waterbar and Grill Steakhouse are currently looking for an experienced Cook to join our team in Cairns.
Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:- Adhere to the cleaning schedule and required level of food presentation and storage;
- Confidently operate kitchen equipment such as fridges, freezers, grills, ovens, stoves and all manner of cooking and kitchen equipment;
- Contribute to a strong team by maintaining a harmonious and mutually beneficial working relationship with staff, management and customers in a pressured environment;
- Ensure quality control at all times and that food is prepared, cooked and seasoned according to the highest standards;
- Ensure that all safety and emergency procedures, including fire prevention regulations are strictly adhered to;
- Full availability over a seven day week is required to meet business demands;
- Kitchen opening, closing and service procedures are executed consistently and correctly;
- Maintain food safety while carrying out food handling activities as well as complying with hygienic work practices and appropriate WH&S guidelines;
- Maintain portion control to keep food costs in line;
- Planning of menus ahead of time to establish food order requirements to accommodate the seasonal menus and dietary requirements;
- Prepare food as required, using appropriate cooking equipment and techniques;
- Understanding and complying with all relevant WH&S legislation and Food Standards Australia / New Zealand.
To be considered for this position, you will need to have a level of skill commensurate with a relevant Trade Certificate or higher qualification, and at least one year of relevant employment experience OR at least three years of relevant employment experience.
A remuneration package between $77,000 - $85,000 will be offered to the successful candidate. This is a full time position, an immediate start is available.
