Allabah Farming Pty Limited is a mixed farming enterprise producing first cross merino lambs, wool, cotton, dry-land cereals and pulses.
They require an Agricultural Technician to join their team in Spring Plains, NSW.
Duties and responsibilities include:- Advise improved farming techniques and management;
- Analyse livestock and cropping programs to set and maintain standards of quality;
- Arrange the supply of drugs, vaccines and other chemicals for use on farms and provide advice on their use;
- Assist in controlled ewe breeding programs to develop genetic improvements in livestock;
- Assist in the operation of farm equipment including tractors, spray rigs and irrigation pumps and develop new methods of planting, fertilising, harvesting and processing dry-land cereals and pulses to achieve optimum land usage
- Collect and collate lamb production data for research and planning purposes;
- Examine topographical, physical and soil characteristics of farmland to determine its most effective use and identify nutrient deficiencies;
- Identify pathogenic micro-organisms and insects, parasites, fungi and weeds harmful to livestock and assist in devising methods of control;
- Inspect livestock to gauge the effectiveness of feed formulae, fodder and / or grazing paddocks;
- Plan and coordinate breeding, shearing, auction sales, harvesting, manage and maintain floor and sprinkler irrigation systems and other aspects of the farming operations and lamb production processes.
- Ensure all Workplace Health & Safety guidelines are adhered to.
To be considered, you will need a level of skill commensurate with a relevant AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma equivalent and at least 1 year of relevant post qualification employment experience is required, OR; at least 3 years of relevant employment experience is required.
This is a full time role, an immediate start is available.
Salary Range: Competitive Remuneration Package ranging from AUD105 000 to AUD125 000, (comprising cash, fresh produce, vehicle/transport, accommodation and utilities components).
