They currently require an Underwriter to join their team in Sydney.
About the role
Underwriter role is primarily responsible for the profitable development of the Facultative Property business in the Australian Branch.
Key Duties and Responsibilities include:- Underwriting for the Australasia treaty team in accordance with the agreed Company Strategy and profitability requirements
- Continuous improvement of underwriting approach and composition of treaty portfolio.
- Building and maintaining relationships with clients (cedants / brokers) through regular communication and visits in AU / NZ.
- Detailed evaluation/analysis of new and renewal offers including coverage and exposures issues, statistical experience, etc.
- Preparation of quotations and re-quotations with the support of QOT- or GRM-tools.
- Portfolio Analysis & Optimisation.
- All related communication, negotiation and correspondence to brokers and clients, CMD, HRB.
- Accountability for decision making.
- Regular dialogue with claims function.
- Support of other members of the underwriting team to share knowledge/experience and help develop team expertise.
- Actively seek input from team members to further training and development across all classes.
- Attend technical conferences and technical training in line with the business objectives and business plan.
- Regular reporting to the Head of P&C.
To be considered you will need international facultative property reinsurance experience of at least 3 years irrespective of qualifications. An appropriate tertiary qualification is highly regarded.
