JAE is a mechanical engineering business that specialises in the manufacturing and refurbishment of coal mining machines and equipment, in accordance with OEM (original equipment manufacturer) specifications and government legislations.
JAE is searching for Electronic Instrument Trades Workers to join their team in Parkhurst, QLD.
You will be responsible for the installation, modification, maintenance and repair of electronic instruments and control systems within hazardous area mining equipment, involving a combination of electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic fields. Included is record management and accurate documentation of equipment particulars, ensuring relevant Standards, Acts and Rules are met, within the expectations of the Company and the Direct Supervisor.
These tasks include:- Accurately record and report statutory requirements.
- Adhere to Company policies and procedures.
- Adjust, repair, replace worn and defective parts and wiring, and maintaining machines, equipment, and instruments.
- Assist end users to correctly use operating procedures to prevent malfunctions.
- Application of knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic principles in commissioning and maintaining control systems.
- Assist the electrical supervisor in the development of work procedures and processes.
- Compile test information and systematically verify commissioning points and documents.
- Complete light vehicle and forklift maintenance checklists as required.
- Complete relevant on the job training as required by the company.
- Complete statutory inspections and documentation.
- Examine and test machines, equipment, instruments, and control systems to diagnose faults.
- General workshop duties as directed by the supervisor.
- Good understanding and knowledge of relevant electrical standards AS/NZS3000, AS/NZS3800, AS/NZS2290.
- Install electronic instruments and control systems.
- Maintain workshop cleanliness and waste management requirements.
- Other duties as required from time to time, as directed by the supervisor.
- Reassemble, test operate and adjust equipment.
- Sound understanding of flameproof protection level requirements and willing to obtain AS60079 EEHA and AS3800 Overhaul and Repair qualifications (or equivalent JA approved course/s).
- Understand and commit to workplace health & safety principles, policies, and procedures.
- Understanding/ willingness to obtain AS3800 Overhaul and Repair qualifications.
To be considered you will need a relevant trade certificate with two years minimum relevant employment experience or at least three years of relevant employment experience to substitute for the formal qualification.
This is a full time role, an immediate start is available. A remuneration package of $85,000 - $100,000 per annum will be offered to the successful candidate.
