About the Company
Host Supplies (Australia) Pty Ltd is an established Australian-owned business specialising in the manufacture and wholesale distribution of accommodation and hospitality textile products across Australia.
We are seeking an experienced in-house Management Accountant to support financial performance, strengthen internal controls, and provide commercial insights across our manufacturing and wholesale operations.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Director, the Management Accountant will play a critical role in overseeing cost management, budgeting, performance reporting, inventory analysis, and financial governance within a manufacturing and wholesale environment.
The role requires strong analytical capability, hands-on involvement in operational finance, and the ability to provide practical recommendations that improve profitability, cost efficiency, and business performance.
Key Responsibilities
The Management Accountant will be responsible for:- Assisting in formulating and maintaining budgetary and accounting policies aligned with manufacturing operations
- Preparing, as required, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the sales team and directors
- Involvement in annual budgets and rolling forecasts across production, procurement, warehousing, and distribution
- Analysing operating costs including cost of goods, labour, overhead allocation, and supply chain expenses including transport
- Recommendations on pricing strategies through margin analysis and cost modelling
- Maintaining internal control systems across inventory, procurement, and production processes through cost and wastage analysis
- Appraising cash flow performance and assessing financial risk related to customer credit and equipment purchases
- Ensuring compliance with statutory reporting and taxation obligations
- Assisting with internal audit processes and providing assurance regarding financial accuracy and compliance to management
- Supporting benchmarking initiatives and continuous improvement programs within manufacturing operations
Required Skills & Experience
Essential Criteria:- Bachelor's degree in either Accounting, Finance, or an industry specialization such as Tourism or Accommodation
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a management accounting role within manufacturing, wholesale, or distribution
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and inventory management
- Demonstrated experience in budgeting/ forecasting, costing analysis, and/or financial performance reporting
- Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate financial data into operational insights
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to collaborate with production and operations teams
Desirable Criteria:- CPA or CA qualification (or working towards completion)
- Experience with standard costing and variance analysis in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of inventory control and supply chain financial analysis
