The Bush Company Australia is located in Marcoola on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. The Company has its roots in years of manufacturing expertise and delivers premium hard shell rooftop tents, freestanding 4x4 awnings, and aluminium utility vehicle canopies.
We require a Mechanical Engineering Draftsperson to join our team.
The Mechanical Engineering Draftsperson will be responsible for preparing detailed drawings and plans of mechanical engineering work in support of Senior Technical Staff.
Additional tasks, duties and responsibilities include:- Collaboration: Liaise with sales staff for quoting, project managers for scheduling, and production staff to resolve fabrication queries.
- Compliance: Ensure all drawings and designs comply with local building codes, structural standards, and safety regulations.
- Design & Drafting: Create detailed 3D CAD models and 2D fabrication drawings for structural steel, aluminium extrusions, and fabric awnings using Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD.
- Engineering Support: Assist engineers with calculations related to structural integrity, material selection, and load requirements.
- Material Take-offs: Generate accurate Bills of Materials (BOM) for fabrication, ordering, and cost estimation.
- Revision Management: Process Engineering Change Requests (ECR) and update drawings based on redline corrections from site visits or workshop inspections
- Shop Drawings: Prepare clear shop drawings, site plans, and installation details (welding details, bolting, fixing methods) for project installation teams.
To be considered you will need a level of skill commensurate with a relevant AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma and at least 1 year of relevant post-qualification employment experience, OR at least 3 years of relevant employment experience may substitute for the formal qualifications noted above.
This is a full time position, an immediate start is available. A remuneration package of $78,000 - $90,000 per annum will be offered to the successful candidate.
