  • Genesis AJ Welding Services is seeking experienced and reliable Metal Fabricators and Welders to join our growing team based in Hope Valley, Perth.

    About the Roles

    Metal Fabricator - As a Metal Fabricator, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal structures and components in accordance with Australian industry standards.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and job specifications
    • Select, clean, and prepare metal stock
    • Measure, cut, and shape metal using hand tools, flame-cutting torches, and machinery
    • Shape and bend metal sections and pipes using hand tools, approved machinery, and heat-forming techniques
    • Assemble and weld components using MIG, FCAW, and ARC welding techniques
    • Align and join components using welding, bolting, and riveting
    • Grind, polish, and finish fabricated components
    • Clean and prepare welds, including acid cleaning where required
    • Follow all workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements
    Welder - As a Welder, you will be responsible for cutting, joining, and repairing metal components to meet Australian standards and safety requirements.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Perform welding on structural, piping, mechanical, and rotating equipment
    • Weld in all positions using FCAW, MIG, and stick welding processes
    • Select appropriate welding techniques and consumables
    • Carry out weld build-up and repairs
    • Interpret technical drawings and specifications
    • Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment
    • Control heat input and distortion using correct techniques
    • Follow proper electrode handling and storage procedures
    • Maintain strict adherence to WHS, hot-work, and fire safety protocols
    • Support and guide apprentices and trade assistants
    Skills & Requirements (Both Roles):
    • Relevant trade qualification (e.g. Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade or equivalent)
    • Valid welding tickets and certifications
    • Demonstrated experience in a similar role
    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
    • Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
