  • The Trustee for THE BRAND FAMILY TRUST T/A Avondale Auto Repair are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Motor Mechanic to join our established mechanical workshop. This role is ideal for an experienced all-rounder who can work independently and collaboratively within a small team, providing both workshop and roadside assistance. The successful candidate will service, diagnose, and repair a wide range of light vehicles and engine systems, ensuring high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.

    Applicants must have a relevant trade qualification AQF Certificate IV with at least one year of relevant experience. Alternatively, at least three years of full-time relevant experience in lieu of a formal qualification.

    Candidates will also have:
    • Extensive experience across a wide range of light vehicles and engine systems.
    • Broad mechanical expertise, including diagnostics, electrical systems, and general repairs
    • Proven ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a small team
    • High level of reliability, initiative, and strong problem-solving capability
    • Willingness to take on responsibility, with a clear interest in future leadership or ownership opportunities
    • Valid driver's licence (essential)
    Your role will include, but is not limited to:
    • Diagnose, repair, and service a wide range of light vehicles and associated mechanical components.
    • Perform mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance in line with manufacturer and industry standards.
    • Carry out mechanical roadside diagnostics and breakdown repairs as required.
    • Conduct inspections, fault finding, and reporting using both traditional and diagnostic tools.
    • Manage mechanical repair jobs autonomously from start to finish while maintaining quality and efficiency.
    • Support workshop operations as a hands-on all-rounder in a small team environment.
    • Maintain a safe, clean, and organised workshop.
    • Communicate effectively with customers regarding mechanical repairs and service recommendations.
    • Assist with mentoring or supporting junior staff and apprentices as required.
    A salary of $76,515 - $85,000 will be offered to the successful candidate.
