BJB Civil Hire is a family-owned business supporting major civil construction clients across the Brisbane region. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced GPS Excavator Operator to join our team for ongoing work across the Southside.

About the Role
You will be working on active Tier 1 civil construction sites including roads, drainage, subdivisions, and infrastructure works.
Key Duties Include:- Final trim works
- GPS machine operation using Trimble Earthworks
- Trenching and excavation
- Bulk earthworks / load out
- Road trimming
- Benching out
- Detailing and finishing works
- Reading plans and set-out information
- Working around drainage, stormwater and pipe installation
- Operating attachments including augers, grabs and sieve buckets
- Safe and efficient machine operation onsite
About You
We are looking for someone with solid all-round civil construction and GPS operating experience who is ready to be part of a professional team. You'll be reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team while also operating independently when required. A respectful attitude, strong communication skills, and the ability to work well with supervisors, crews, and clients are essential.
We value operators who present well, remain calm under pressure, and are willing to travel to different project locations when needed. Most importantly, we're looking for someone who wants long-term work, values consistency, and is committed to delivering quality outcomes while representing BJB Civil Hire positively.
To be successful, you will have:- Minimum 5+ years operating late-model Cat excavators from 5T to 25T
- Strong experience using Trimble GPS Earthworks systems
- Proven civil construction experience across multiple project types
- Experience in stormwater, drainage, house blocks, pipework, concrete pipes and footpaths
- Ability to work confidently in a variety of ground and site conditions
- Experience operating multiple machines highly regarded
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work productively with clients, supervisors and management
- Commitment to safety and site procedures
Tickets / Licences Required:- Relevant RII Tickets / VOCs
- White Card
- Current Driver Licence
- Own reliable transport
Highly regarded:- TMR project experience
- HR Licence
- Multi-skilled across excavators, skid steer / Posi and other machinery
