The Drakesbrook Hotel is a 32 room motel 1.5 hrs south of Perth. We cater for approximately 150 people per night consisting of regular in-house guests and the general public
We are currently seeking an experienced Landscape Gardener to join our team in a full time role working 38 hours a week.
Applicants must have at least 3 years previous full time equivalent experience in similar role and industry, and a Certificate III (or equivalent) would be preferred.
Applicants will be responsible for:
Grounds & Garden Maintenance:- Maintain lawns, gardens, hedges, trees, and landscaped areas throughout the property.
- Mow, edge, trim, weed, mulch, and fertilise garden beds and turf areas.
- Prune shrubs and trees to maintain appearance and safety.
- Plant and maintain seasonal flowers, plants, and turf.
- Remove dead plants, leaves, branches, and garden waste.
Caravan Park Site Presentation:- Ensure caravan sites, cabins, communal areas, and entry points are clean, tidy, and visually appealing.
- Maintain pathways, driveways, outdoor seating areas, and BBQ spaces.
- Monitor outdoor lighting, signage, and garden edging for presentation and safety.
- Assist with setup and maintenance of outdoor recreational areas.
Irrigation & Water Management:- Operate and maintain irrigation and reticulation systems.
- Monitor watering schedules to ensure efficient water usage.
- Identify and repair minor leaks, broken sprinklers, and irrigation faults.
- Assist with water conservation initiatives.
Pest & Weed Control:- Identify and control weeds, pests, and plant diseases.
- Safely apply herbicides, pesticides, and fertilisers in accordance with regulations and company procedures.
- Maintain records of chemical usage where required.
General Maintenance Support:- Assist maintenance staff with minor outdoor repairs and property upkeep.
- Maintain fences, garden borders, outdoor furniture, and landscaping structures.
- Use and maintain gardening tools, machinery, and equipment safely.
- Report major maintenance or safety issues to management.
Guest Experience & Safety:- Ensure grounds are safe, clean, and free from hazards.
- Present a professional and friendly manner when interacting with guests.
- Respond promptly to urgent maintenance or weather-related issues.
- Help maintain a welcoming environment consistent with hotel standards.
Workplace Health & Safety:- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately.
- Store chemicals and equipment safely.
- Conduct routine equipment safety checks.
A salary between $75,000 - $80,000 pa + Superannuation and overtime will be offered to the successful candidates.
