  • Westforce Construction was originally established in 2006, primarily as a Civil Construction Contractor. Since then the company has grown and diversified into a multi-disciplined Contractor venturing into structural steel fabrication, precast concrete panel fabrication and erection, high and low voltage electrical installation, and the design and construct of civil works and commercial buildings.

    We are currently seeking experienced and motivated Civil Engineering Draftspersons and Civil Engineering Technicians to join our growing team.

    These roles assist in civil engineering research, design, construction, operations, and maintenance across a range of civil infrastructure projects.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Preparing sketches, charts, tabulations, plans and design for civil engineering works such as drainage, water supply, sewerage reticulation systems, roads, airport, dams, bridges and other structures.
    • Performing and directing fieldwork and laboratory testing.
    • Interpreting work assignments instructions, applying appropriate procedures and selecting
    • Collecting and analysing data, and carrying out computations
    • Estimating material costs and ensuring finished works are within specifications, regulations and contract provisions
    • Inspecting civil engineering works, and organising and supervising maintenance and repair work
    • Conducting field and laboratory tests of construction materials and soils, and collecting data for traffic surveys.
    • Produces engineering documents by developing construction specification plan and schedules
    • Confidently liaising with clients and other professional subcontractors
    • Prepare engineering design by collecting and studying reports, maps, drawings, blueprint, aerial photographs
    • Process purchase orders, invoices, data, etc. through Buildsmart and the SharePoint system after pre-approval has been completed by project/senior engineer.
    • Implement and adhere to Westforce Construction Management Systems procedures and policies.
    • Ensure compliance with all the Westforce Management Systems procedures, safe work procedures and the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 and OFSC Accreditation Scheme.
    • Responsible for tasks set out in the Project Management plans and the RACI.
    • Assist on construction projects, by checking design documents.
    • Review and understand design documents and project specifications. Confirm compliance to relevant specifications and compile technical queries and requests for information for internal review.
    • Develop and maintain material tracking registers.
    • Liaise effectively with various stakeholders and/or subcontractors when on site.
    • Assist Project Engineer/Senior Project Engineer/Construction Manager/ Project Manager on various tasks as required. E.g. managing budgets, resources, and deadlines, etc.
    • Identify material requirements in accordance with design documentation and project specifications. Prepare requests for quotations.
    • Competently prepare daily reports for internal review.
    • Work with the supervisors/superintendents daily to ensure that the project is being executed in line with construction schedule, design, and methodologies.
    • Assist in the development of schedules, methodologies, and execution plans.
    • Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports and vet daily reports done by Site/Grad Engineer (Responsible for submission to client).
    Applicants must possess:
    • AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma qualification relevant to Civil Engineering or related discipline; OR
    • At least three years of relevant industry experience in lieu of formal qualifications
    Additional relevant experience and/or on-the-job training may also be required.

    • Commitment to workplace health and safety standards
    Registration or licensing may be required depending on the role and project requirements.

    Salary packages between $80,000 - $100,000 will be negotiated with the successful candidates and will be aligned with your level of experience.
