  • Our client operates two agricultural enterprises across four properties, or 15 lots, in New South Wales. Originally sugarcane fields, the farms are currently being developed into established macadamia and pecan orchards.

    They require a General Manager in East Coraki, NSW.

    Key responsibilities and duties include:
    • Plan, organise, direct, control and review the day-to-day operations and major functions of the agricultural entities through farm managers, civils contractors and subordinate managers, which this appointee will be required to identify, recruit and appoint;
    • Authorize the funding of newly acquired property, tree implementation and land re-development costs;
    • Consult with contractors, customers and key suppliers on matters such as methods of operation, laser grading of fields/drainage, tree supply, water allocation, irrigation pump stations, structure clearing, equipment requirements, finance and sales on the agricultural properties;
    • Manage the agricultural enterprise and its four properties, including tree supply and haulage, water allocation sales, laser grading, drainage, farm maintenance and structure clearing;
    • Plan policy and the setting of standards and objectives for the agricultural properties;
    • Plan, organize, direct, control and review the daily operations and major functions of our agricultural enterprise and its properties;
    • Prepare reports, budgets and forecasts and present them to the director;
    • Provide daily direction to and management of the farms to maximize development, profit and operating efficiency;
    • Represent the enterprise at official occasions, in negotiations, at field days, conferences, liaising with other industry stakeholders and between areas of responsibility;
    • Overall management and fiduciary responsibility for the direction of the business, its operations and the appointment of staff members/contractors;
    • Select and manage the performance of contractors and report to the directors.
    To be considered you will need a level of skill commensurate with a bachelor degree or higher qualification and at least 3 years of relevant post-qualification employment experience as a senior executive OR at least 5 years of relevant senior executive employment experience.

    This is a full time position, an immediate start is available. A competitive remuneration package is available to the successful candidate.
