Casa Del Perro Contracting/Dog House Diesel is a Katherine local Construction and Mechanical maintenance company. Employing trade qualified carpenters, heavy equipment mechanics and apprentices, we operate throughout regional and remote NT performing all aspects of construction including new builds, renovations and extensions. From start to finish we perform most tasks in house, fabricating footings and trusses either on-site or in our workshop.
Casa Del Perro Contracting is seeking a qualified and experienced Carpenter to join its growing operations across regional and remote Northern Territory. The role involves carrying out a broad range of residential, commercial, and remote construction works including new builds, renovations, extensions, decking, bathroom installations, sheds, and structural carpentry projects.
The Carpenter will work both independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality construction outcomes for clients located across stations, communities, and remote worksites throughout the Top End.
The Carpenter will be responsible for duties including, but not limited to:- Constructing, erecting, installing, renovating, and repairing structures and fixtures made from timber, plywood, wallboard, and other materials.
- Reading and interpreting plans, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements and measurements.
- Measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining timber and other building materials.
- Installing structures and fixtures including wall framing, flooring systems, roofing systems, doors, windows, decks, sheds, and internal fit-outs.
- Performing renovation and extension works for residential and commercial projects.
- Constructing and installing formwork, footings, and structural components.
- Assisting with fabrication and installation of roof trusses and related structural frameworks.
- Carrying out repairs and maintenance on existing structures and fittings.
- Operating hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery safely and effectively.
- Ensuring all works are completed in accordance with building codes, project specifications, and workplace safety requirements.
- Coordinating with supervisors, subcontractors, apprentices, and other tradespersons on-site.
- Maintaining tools, equipment, and work vehicles in safe operating condition.
- Travelling to regional and remote project locations throughout the Northern Territory as required.
To be successful, applicants must hold a relevant Certificate III with a proven minimum 1 year of experience, or at least 3 years experience may substitute formal qualification.
Applicants must also have:- Demonstrated experience in residential and/or commercial construction projects.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Experience working in remote or regional environments is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
- Reliable, practical, and self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills.
- Current driver licence preferred.
A salary of $75,000 - $90,000 will be offered the successful candidate.
