    We have a career opportunity for a skilled Agricultural and Horticultural Mobile Plant Operator to join our team in Bourke, New South Wales. Relocation Support is available.

    Overall Responsibilities:
    • Preparing and positioning plant for operation
    • Wholly responsible for preparing tractor-drawn and self-propelled plant to plough land and sow, fertilise, cultivate and harvest crops and avoid damaging crops
    • Operating agricultural plant to clear and cultivate land, and sow and harvest crops.
    • Operating tractors, harvesters, sprayers, forklifts, loaders, irrigation equipment, and other agricultural machinery.
    • Driving and controlling machinery used for planting, cultivating, fertilising, spraying, harvesting and transporting crops.
    • Operating machinery for soil preparation such as ploughing, ripping, levelling, and seeding.
    • Monitoring machinery performance and adjusting controls to maintain efficient operation.
    • Monitoring crop conditions and reporting machinery faults, crop damage, or operational issues to supervisors.
    • Following workplace health and safety procedures, including safe handling of chemicals and machinery.
    • Maintaining records relating to machine operation, maintenance, fuel usage, and field activities.
    You will also be responsible for:
    • Performing routine maintenance on machinery and equipment, including checking oil, fuel, tyres, hydraulic systems, and replacing worn parts.
    • Cleaning, lubricating, and servicing agricultural and horticultural machinery.
    • Attaching and detaching implements and equipment to tractors and other mobile plant.
    • Loading and unloading produce, fertilisers, chemicals, feed, or equipment using mechanical lifting devices.
    • Applying pesticides, herbicides, fertilisers, and other treatments using mechanised spraying equipment.
    • Operating irrigation and water distribution systems.
    High preference given to candidates who have operated heavy equipment and vehicle/mobile plant operation such as:
    • Tractors
    • Combine harvesters
    • Cotton pickers
    • Boom sprayers
    • Front-end loaders
    Our Mobile Plant Operator applicant should provide clear evidence of their practical machinery experience, technical knowledge, licences and relevant qualifications, stating:
    • 2+ years experience
    • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment with a can-do attitude
    • Team player who can work effectively with people from different backgrounds
    • Awareness and ability to adhere to rules and procedures
    • Flexibility in hours worked to achieve operational targets
    • Good written and verbal communication skills

    This role involves working 38 hours per week (full-time role), including shift work available for up to 5 months of the year across 7 days of the week which will include overtime (optional).
