We are currently seeking an experienced Cook to join our team in Katherine, NT in a full time role.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Inspects and selects ingredients for cooking
- Measures, cleans, chops, blends, seasons, heats and cools food
- Monitors food cooking processes to ensure proper cooking and presentation
- Coordinates, supervises and collaborates with kitchen staff in food preparation and cooking
- Cleans and maintains kitchen equipment and utensils
- Monitors and maintains inventory of food supplies and equipment
- Assists in the development of new recipes and menu items
Applicants must have:- Minimum 1-2 years of demonstrated experience working as a Cook in a fast-paced, commercial kitchen environment
- Formal culinary qualification, such as a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or higher
- Proven ability to assist with menu planning and food preparation, including the creation of innovative dishes using fresh, seasonal ingredients
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, presentation standards, and food safety and hygiene regulations
- Excellent time management and multitasking skills, with the ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy kitchen
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and rotating shifts as required
- Strong passion for producing high-quality food with consistency in taste, portioning, and presentation
- Effective teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to support and guide junior kitchen staff when needed
A salary of $75,000 - $80,000 will be offered to the successful candidate.
