We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our Henderson team in a full time role.
Applicants must hold a Mechanical Fitter Trade Qualification and High risk work license, as well as have at least 3 years' experience in a similar role.
Knowledge and Skills:- A strong understanding of health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of engineering practices, machine tools, hand tools and materials.
- Understanding of production processes, quality control and costs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage small projects.
- Problem-solving, decision-making and organisation skills.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions.
- Team player, able to work autonomously and with others.
- Strong attention to detail, and
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
Responsibilities include:- Examine detailed drawings and specifications to assess materials and equipment required to complete job task.
- Attend work sites in various locations and perform tasks to client's instructions.
- Overhaul a wide range of plant and rotating equipment including pumps, valves, gearboxes, hydraulic components and marine propulsion systems.
- Sketch components and identify parts for repair or replacement.
- Perform basic fabrication and welding using various metals.
- Inspect component parts with calibrated measuring equipment.
- Operate laser aligning equipment to align pumps, motors and gearboxes.
- Perform hydrostatic pressure testing and compile client reports.
- Operate manual machine tools to manufacture various components.
- Produce sketches, photos and documentation required to compile client report.
- Complete HEC job packs in accordance with job procedure.
- Operate various plant and machinery including cranes forklifts and EWP, and
- Keep working areas clean and tidy and adhere to HEC safety policy and procedure.
A salary between $79,499 - $82,992 will be offered to the successful candidates.
