    The Bar Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operation of bar and beverage service areas, ensuring high standards of customer service, responsible service of alcohol, team supervision and operational efficiency are maintained at all times.

    This role coordinates meal service periods, supports food and beverage operations, assists with functions and events, and supervises front of house staff to ensure guests receive a professional and welcoming hospitality experience reflective of the Mary River Wilderness Retreat brand.

    The position is hands-on and requires a strong ability to work in a fast-paced remote hospitality environment while maintaining service standards, compliance and team leadership.

    Duties and responsibilities:
    • Supervise daily bar operations and beverage service periods
    • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
    • Ensure Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) requirements are followed at all times
    • Maintain cleanliness and presentation of bar areas and beverage stations
    • Ensure glassware, garnishes, stock and bar supplies are adequately maintained
    • Open and close bar operations in accordance with procedures
    • Monitor customer behaviour and service standards
    • Manage bar tabs, POS transactions and daily cash reconciliation
    • Assist with planning and coordinating functions, group bookings and events
    • Set up and pack down function and event spaces
    • Coordinate staffing requirements for events and peak periods
    • Liaise with kitchen and management regarding event schedules and guest requirements
    • Ensure service standards are maintained during functions and events
    • Assist with entertainment or special event coordination where required
    • Monitor stock levels for beverages, bar consumables and service supplies
    • Conduct stocktakes as directed
    • Rotate stock and monitor expiry dates
    • Report low stock levels and ordering requirements to management
    • Minimise stock loss and wastage
    To be successful, applicants must:
    • hold a relevant qualification equivalent to an AQF Certificate II and one year of full-time (or part-time equivalent) work experience
    • hold a relevant qualification equivalent to an AQF Certificate III with relevant post qualification work experience of at least one year (minimum 20 hours plus per week)
    • have at least one year of relevant full-time (or part-time equivalent) work experience to substitute the relevant qualifications

    A salary of $70,000 - $85,000 will be offered to the successful candidate.
